Video: Man encounters grizzly bear during early morning jog - that's one way to get your heart rate up

The jogger had been out clocking up some miles for an early morning jog, happily passing other runners and folk out enjoying the wilderness, when round one corner he comes literally within a yard of a great grizzly bear. 



“While I was running in eastern British Columbia I came across a most affable of creature,” the jogger says of his encounter. 

“This creature was in fact so social that it came over to greet me.  I was not very impressed with its assertive display at hello and left quickly.”

In other words, he rounded the path, saw the bear, freaked out and ran like a mile off down the path in the opposite direction.
