An Aussie man plans to spend three weeks living with deadly spiders in an effort to raise money for a children’s charity.

An Aussie man plans to spend three weeks living with deadly spiders in an effort to raise money for a children’s charity.

Nick Le Souef, 67, has taken up residency in a Melbourne shopfront window with only 300 arachnids, including poisonous redbacks, for company.

Dubbed the “spider man” Le Souef will live alongside the spiders for up to 23 hours a day, even sleeping in the window in his swag.

Mr Le Souef who has previously spent time in a snake pit and a shark tank undertaking similar stunts says he is not afraid of the creepy crawlies.

“I’m not afraid of them but I don't like them particularly," he said.

The fundraiser will run until December 5 at Lightning Ridge Opals on Flinders Lane.

Le Souef hopes to raise about $50,000 for children's charity Variety.
