United Airlines lost 10-year-old passenger, and refused to help find her

Ten year-old Phoebe Klebahn was flying from San Francisco to Chicago where she was to get a connecting flight. She was to be met by a United Airlines employee at Chicago who would take her to her next flight, but this ever happened and the airline repeatedly dodged attempts by her parents Annie and Perry to find out where their daughter had got to. 



A letter was written by the Klebahn’s friend Bob Sutton, an author, that detailed Phoebe’s attempts to find someone who would help her. 


“The attendants were busy and could not help her she told us. She told them she had a flight to catch to camp and they told her to wait. She asked three times to use a phone to call is and they told her to wait. When she missed the flight she asked is someone had called camp to make sure they knew and they her “yes, we will take care of it”. No one did. She was sad and scared and no one helped.”



The cam called to inform the Klebahn’s that their daughter had not arrived as intended, but Annie and Perry’s attempts to contact the airline and find out where their daughter had been left did not achieve the level of support they were expecting. 



Instead, they were rebuffed at numerous stages, with their daughter only found when they pleaded with a United Airlines employee who helped them locate the missing ten year old. 



The airline have since apologised to the Klebahns and an investigation is pending.
