71-year-old King Roman, now styling himself as “His Imperial Majesty” (once known simply as Ron Mann) told the NT News that he discovered that his father had been the Grand Duke of Lithuania in 1992.
As such, King Roman claims that once his father passed he had inherited a “large swathe of Eastern Europe”, claiming amongst his titles Grand Duke of Lithuania, Belarus, Ukraine and the Count of Lubranie.
King Roman, related via his father to a Prince Wladislaw, also claims the right to grant titles – which he confers upon the lucky benefactors by Letter Patent.
For a nominal fee ($100), good King Roman will confer upon you the honour of calling yourself a Knight of the Order of the Amethyst, which would look amazing on a business card.
Australia’s Department of Immigration hasn’t been so impressed by King Roman however, refusing to renew his Australian passport as they do not recognise his new royal titles.
Darwin’s Lithuanian monarch though refuses to be cowed, offering even more heady titles to those willing to spend top dollars.
He claims to be raising money to unify Lithuania, Belarus and the Ukraine in a constitutional royal alliance, installing himself at its head.
He also is donating money to charities like UNICEF… Long live the King.
