Surfing: Australian Kai Otton, 31, has won the Oakley Saquarema Prime at Itauna beach, Brazil.

Under sunny skies and consistent 8-10 foot surf, the goofy-footer held on to defeat local  Raoni Monteiro, 29, in the final heat of the ASP World Prime at the left-hand point break.

“I had to surf with a borrowed board because I didn’t bring anything big enough for these types of waves and, in the end, everything worked out,” Otton said.

For his efforts, he received £24,500 and now moves up to number 38 on the ASP World rankings. An awesome day’s work.
