The LA Galaxy and England star was put through a course of drills and tests by Dave Clarke, Team GB captain at the Beijing 2008 Olympics.

Beckham hailed the spirit of Britain’s Paralympics 5-aside team which made him feel “proud to be British.”

“I have never experienced or participated in blind football before,” Beckham said of his blindfolded experience. “They [Team GB] are a real testament to the quality of our Paralympic athletes.

Beckham took part in the specially-arranged session in London as part of the Million Kids Challenge, an initiative to encourage kids to take part in Paralympic sports such as football which is played using an audible-ball.

Beckham was not the only one to be moved by the session though, the Team GB captain commenting: “Training with a world football icon like David Beckham was a great experience we will never forget.

“This opportunity allowed all of our squad to showcase the skills and levels of concentration needed to participate in blind football at an elite level.”
