Taste of Malaysia

In light of 2013’s undying obsession with foodie pop-ups, this week we bring you a Bite Size entirely populated by these tricksy little now-you-see-it-now-you-don’t phenomenons.

First up is the pop-up Malaysian menu at Soho’s Spice Market, ending this Sunday (so it’s your last chance to get amongst it!).

There are 10 classic taster dishes to give you a thorough intro to the cuisine, plus a hibiscus cocktail created especially to accompany the food. Costs £48 per head.

Food science

Now booking is The Lab, a three-night “flavour experience” fronted by sleb chef Gizzi Erskine (pictured) at Wapping’s Tobacco Dock.

Expect “interactive experiences” – masterclasses, DJ sets, food experiments, cookery demos – and food and bevvies brought to you by top chefs and a drink scientist (we shit you not).

There’ll even be appearances by chefs from esteemed London eateries including Dinner by Heston Blumenthal and Duck and Waffle. Tickets are a not-overly-cheap £75 for four dishes and two drinks. On April 25-27.

Dinner dance

Another date for the diary is April 13, when Dinner Dance by the Disappearing Dining Club pops up in east London to serve up a five-course meal followed by tunes until 2am.

We’re feeling a bit giddy about dessert already – salt caramel tart with popcorn parfait. Get in. Tickets are £55 and include a welcome drink.
