New kid on the street

Feast on Malaysian food and street art at Tootoomoo (above) – a new Pan-Asian restaurant inspired by a folklore tale.

The menu – expect sushi, randang, green curry and spicy salads – has been influenced by street food hawkers.

While the design is courtesy of Milo Tchais, who was commissioned to design a mural depicting the stories of the little girl who tames a giant.

Book in or grab food to takeaway from the venue in Crouch End.

Honky tonk Xmas

New York-inspired Honky Tonk will be throwing open its doors for a weekly party brunch.

Dig into an all-American menu – think French toast with maple syrup, bubble and squeak, and eggs benedict – while tapping your feet to live blues, jazz and rockabilly. Dishes start from £5.95.

To add a tequila kick to your lunchtime, swap jam on toast for a marmalade margarita at this west London venue.

The brunch takes place every Saturday until January 5.

Dim sum and some

Mixing themes from Chinese medicine, Asian tearooms, poppy fields and elegant boudoirs, a new restaurant is opening in London.

Opium Cocktail And Dim Sum Parlour is housed in the roof of a listed building, overlooking the back streets of Chinatown.

Expect to enjoy dim sum – think lobster dumplings with XO sauce, crispy fried oysters – while seated within oriental wardrobes. Don’t leave without trying a cocktail, showcasing Asian flavours.
