Disguised as a railway worker, the man duped real-life staff into handing over steel plates worth £3,000 at Bounds Green depot in north London.
Saying he was working at a neighbouring site, the man is reported as having convinced the railmen to let him borrow five metal road plates weighing nearly four tonnes. Adding insult to injury, he then conned them into using their forklift truck to load the metal onto his truck before driving off.
We’re betting that their boss went metal – sorry, we mean mental.
