A bullfighter who bottled it and jumped out of the ring was arrested for breech of contract.
Young matador, Christian Hernandez, made a token spin with his cape at the charging bull, then bricked himself, ran across the ring and leapt headlong over the wall to safety.
Not only was Hernandez booed by the crowd, he was arrested shortly after the disastrous fight at the Plaza Mexico in Mexico City and only released after paying a fine.
Hernandez, 22, from Mexico, said: “There are some things you must be aware of about yourself.
“I didn’t have the ability, I didn’t have the balls, this is not my thing.”
He later announced that he would retire from bullfighting.
10,000 bulls are slaughtered in bullfights every year.
