Cheryl Cole and Tinie Tempah are among the nominees for the Brit Awards 2011 with multiple nominations each.
Strutting her stuff on the Red Carpet meanwhile was hotly-tipped Do It Like A Dude newcomer Jessie J who has already been garlanded with the Critics Choice Brit Award.
London-based rapper Tinie Tempah, whose debut album Disc-Overy topped the UK charts last year leads the field with four nominations including British Male Solo artist and Album of the Year.
Erstwhile Girls Aloud singer Cole, who has more recently carved out a solo career for herself off the back of X-Factor has been nominated for two Brit Awards.
Garnering three Brit Award nominations each were Plan B – aka rapper Ben Drew – Mumford & Sons and The xx.
Take That, recently reunited with prodigal son Robbie Williams will go up against Biffy Clyro, Gorillaz Mumford & Sons and The xx for best group.
Brit Award nominees in the international categories include Alicia Keys, Katy Perry, Kings of Leon, Kanye West and Rihanna.
The nominations were revealed at a star studded event at the IndigO2 attended by the likes of The Wanted, Olly Murs and Ellie Goulding.
The Brit Awards will take place on Feb 15 and will feature newly designed gongs designed by Vivienne Westwood. Comic actor James Corden will host.
