The men had been driving around in a pick-up truck in the early hours of the morning when they saw the girl leaving the bar in Nakorn Sri Thammarat, Southern Thailand.
The attackers dragged her to a balcony on the second floor of a nearby building, punching her when she tried to resist, and raped her. She was found there at 5am in distress, reports the Daily Mail.
The girl is thought to be from Fort William, Invernesshire. Police Lt. Col. Niti Boonjan who is in charge of the investigation said: ‘She had applied to be a teacher. She was still waiting for the school to reply to her job application. She had scratches on her body and she was taken to hospital for forensic tests. She was found crying on the second floor balcony.’
Nakorn Sri Thammarat is around 500 miles from the country’s capital Bangkok, and not a particularly popular tourist destination.
