The pork-accented dessert was apparently spotted in a Nashville, Tennessee branch of Burger King. And while it might sound a bit wrong to serve bacon with ice cream, it’s not that odd in terms of southern American, down-home cooking – serving fried chicken with honey and smothering bacon in maple syrup is par for the course. And we can assure you that this seemingly bonkers blend of sweet and savoury is actually delicious.
According to ABC News, no nutritional information on the dish is yet available, as the dessert hasn’t been made official. And a spokesman reportedly told CBS that Burger King “does not have plans to expand the test to additional markets at this time.”
Aw, damn it! We’ll just have to go home and make our own.
