The first official day of Canberra’s Christmas Markets was last night (gasp) but don’t fret, as they’re still carrying on until Christmas Eve. That’s plenty of time to pick up some trinkets and pressies for those nearest and dearest to you.
From 9am you can pick up a medley of stuff, like vintage clothing, musical instruments and handmade gifts. If you hang around long enough, or take a nap and come back, at 4pm the markets transform into a night market with food and entertainment.
The organisers anticipate crowds of up to 200,000 visiting the Christmas lights in Garema Place/City Walk, so hold hands with your buds and stick together!
Markets will be around Petrie Plaza, Civic Square, City Walk and Ainslie Place and run from 9am till 10pm between now and Christmas Eve. Find out more at their website.
