Charlie Sheen’s TV mum has leapt to the embattled actor’s defence a day after he was fired from Two And A Half Men, insisting he was always very well mannered with her on the set.
Holland Taylor, who plays the mother of Sheen’s character Charlie
Harper on the show, has offered the troubled playboy some kind words.
“Charlie was cordial and polite with all of his castmates and crew,
sometimes even courtly – and always witty. We watched movies at his
house occasionally – warm evenings with interesting, spirited
conversation. This is the guy I know.
“In this very sad and complicated time, I really have no comment,
beyond valuing my own history with Charlie, and my abiding affection
for him.”

Sheen was axed “with immediate effect” from the show on Monday following a 10-day media blitz, during which he constantly took aim at the producers and creator/writer Chuck Lorre for cancelling the remaining episodes of the current season.
Overnight, he took further verbal shots at Lorre on his internet show Charlie’s Korner calling him a “maggot” and asking whether
he could “smell his mother’s tears”.
Sheen also appeared to
taunt Lorre about alleged alcoholism saying: “remember this after the
first drink back, the drink you know you want”.
Meanwhile, a global art collective has released software that edits the headline-grabbing
celebrity out of web pages.
Tinted Sheen, computer code
crafted by Greg Leuch for Firefox or Chrome web browsers, promised to
delete Sheen’s name and block out his image.
“Sorry Charlie, but it is time to leave the internet and go back to your porn family,” a message on Leuch’s website said.
“Let this be the hangover cure for the #winning buzz from which everyone is still recovering.”
