Cheryl Cole finally put the X-Factor debacle behind as she began shooting a new film with Cameron Diaz this week.
Cole has a small part in What To Expect When You’re Expecting as a TV Talent Show judge.
Obviously she’ll be able to draw on her extensive experience as a judge for The X-Factor. She was a longstanding judge on the UK series but was unceremoniously dumped from the US version for her thick Geordie accent and for not having enough chemistry with Paula Abdul. She was replaced by Nicole Scherzinger.
Further humiliation followed when Cole missed out on returning to the British X-Factor – the place was ultimately taken by N-Dubz singer Tulisa Contostavlos.
What's more, Cole's plans to take back her cheating ex-hubbie Ashley Cole were also ruined after reports of another affair surfaced in July.
But Cole appears to be back on top with her new film role, though, according to a friend the 28 year old is not looking to trade her singing career for acting anytime soon.
“This is a bit of fun for Cheryl. She will film the scenes imminently and is really looking forward to it.”
“It doesn’t mean she suddenly wants to become actress. It was just an opportunity that has come up while she has been having some down time and she thought it would be great fun to take part.”
The film which also stars Jennifer Lopez, Chris Rock and Dennis Quaid tells the story of four couples who become parents.
It is due in cinemas May 2012.
