The scene: With its wooden floors, glimmering candlelight and red walls emblazoned with art, Chez Manny is a good-looking French bistro that oozes charm thanks to its eponymous owner who greets diners like old friends. Passionate about food, we can’t help but get swept up in Chez’s enthusiasm for our meal.
The grub: Classic French dishes adapted from family recipes. Starters include duck foie gras and escargots, while mains include duck leg confit and roasted lamb shank with a red wine jus. The meat is melt-in-the-mouth succulent and all dishes are artfully assembled. Puddings include raspberry creme brulee and tart tatin.
Behind the bar: The wine list is gigantic and includes international and affordable options.
