White magic practitioners have been summoned to inspect the fruit, after police received complaints. The young coconut was found near a school on the Kaafu atoll in the Indian Ocean. Koranic verse written in Arabic raises alarm amongst the local community who feared the fruit may have been cursed with a black magic spell.

Minivan, a local website, have reported a source told them the fruit was left at the school as “a lesson for islanders not to practice black magic in an attempt to influence voting and that the polling area would be closely monitored to prevent such activities from occurring”.

The fait of the coconut in question is yet to be reported.
