The study from Brock University in Ontario, published in Psychological Science, showed that people who score low on I.Q. tests in childhood are more likely to develop prejudiced beliefs and socially conservative politics in adulthood.
However, the study must be considered alongside a long-held debate among psychologists that I.Q tests are a proper indicator of intelligence in the first place.
Dr. Brian Nosek, a University of Virginia psychologist, said the issue was complicated.
“Ideologies get rid of the messiness and impose a simpler solution. So, it may not be surprising that people with less cognitive capacity will be attracted to simplifying ideologies.”
Meanwhile, the results of a ‘Singles in America’ survey have revealed Republicans reach orgasm more than their counterparts elsewhere on the political spectrum.
The survey of 6000 single people aged 21 and over, revealed respondents with conservative beliefs climaxed most frequently, despite having the least amount of sex.
More than half of those who identified as conservative Republicans said they reached climax almost every time they had sex, compared with just 40 percent of liberal Democrats.
