The actress, who turns 50 on Sunday, has been anointed the title by CougarLife.com, a Canadian-based dating website specialising in matching up “cute cubs” with “yummy mummies”.

Demi split from her 34-year-old husband Ashton Kutcher last November after six years of marriage. He was accused of cheating on her with a 22-year-old he met during a trip to San Diego.

But CougarLife.com founder Claudia Opdenkelder credits the relationship with making romances where there is a considerable age difference more acceptable to the public.

“Demi Moore has single-handedly done more for the cougar community than anyone and made significant strides in helping the lifestyle become part of mainstream culture,” Opdenkelder told RadarOnline.

Moore will receive a pair of animal print Christian Louboutin pumps and a special certificate from CougarLife as part of the honour, Opdenkelder said.

The actress is believed to be single at the moment.

Kutcher has meanwhile moved on with his former That 70s Show co-star, 29-year-old Mila Kunis.
