The intoxicated woman crashed a passenger ferry, which she’d just stolen while belting, “I’m Jack Sparrow.”
Supposedly the 51-year-old woman, named Alison Whelan, had been partying for two days non-stop last September on a cocktail of Lambrini and hallucinogenic plants before she climbed onto the 100-seater Dart Princess in Dartmouth in Devon.
Whelan is thought to have called the police herself before unmooring the boat. As she drifted off she was shouting “I’m a pirate,” reported The Telegraph.
Torquay Magistrates Court in Devon heard that the vessel was hitting other boats “like a pinball machine.”
To shut down the inebriated joy ride it took more than 30 local authority workers, including police, RNLI officers, coastguards and ambulance staff.
After pleading guilty to aggravated vehicle taking, Whelan was jailed for 122 days.
When arrested, the assailant claimed she ”would have ended up in St Tropez” if she wasn’t stopped, reported The Telegraph.
With the damage done to private and public boats plus the man power needed to stop the 45ft boat made it “quite an expensive night,” said PC Clare Pearson.
