On Tuesday night Watts faced a Gold Coast-Tweed Rugby judiciary hearing on a contrary conduct charge. The ex-Sydney Rooster and North Queensland half-back was accused of biting a rival player during the Tugun Seahawk’s preliminary final win over Bilambil Jets on September 1.
News Corp Australia has reported that Watts had been banned for eight matches having been found guilty of the offence. Video footage shows the Jets player squirming in pain after a collision with Watts near the goal line. He then quickly pulls down his shorts to show the referee the damage. Watt was immediately placed on report.
Watts had already been found guilty of striking his opponent and subsequently was ruled out of the Bycroft Cup grand final last weekend where the Seahawks won. The Queensland Rugby League is expected to make a statement today.
This latest incidents comes as another in a series of situations involving Watts who has admitted to being a member of the Finks bikie gang since moving to the Gold Coast. Last week he received a fine for driving while suspended and in June he was both fined and convicted for affray following an altercation at the Cooly Rocks nostalgia festival.
