Ex-Springbok media man dies in plane crash

Chris Hewitt, at the centre of a furore surrounding an alleged sex video featuring springbok coach Peter de Villiers died in a plane crash on Wednesday.

Beeld reported on Thursday that Hewitt became the 25th victim of plane crashes in the country over the past month.

Sapa reported earlier that two men had been killed on Wednesday when their two-seater aircraft crashed near Hekpoort north-west of Krugersdorp, Gauteng police said.

Inspector Odette van Staden said the accident happened around 17:00 on Wednesday.

Witnesses said that the aircraft went into a spiral before crashing to the ground.
