The band will be releasing their new album later this year, complete with a accompanying eight-part HBO TV series that chronicles its production.
They finished recording in January and it was created in eight U.S cities: New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, New Orleans, Nashville, Seattle, Washington D.C. and Austin, recording one song at a renowned studio per city.
The HBO documentary series, which will be directed by frontman Dave Grohl, will premiere on the eve of Foo Fighters’ 20th anniversary in October.
The new album is the follow-up to 2011’s Wasting Light.
