Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo has insisted he has no plans to join Manchester City, insisting he remains commitment to the Spanish powerhouse.
The former Manchester United has only been in Spain for two seasons following his world record transfer of £80million.
While his own individual performances have been worthy of the price-tag, the Portuguese international is yet to taste La Liga or Champions League glory with his new club, instead playing second fiddle to the all-conquering Barcelona.
City meanwhile are unlikely to be second best for very much longer with another summer splurge on the cards before UEFA’s financial fair play rules kick in.
Ronaldo is said to be the club’s top target, with Sheikh Mansour prepared to bankroll a deal that what dwarf that which Madrid sanctioned in 2009.
However the player insists money is not his motivation.
“I’m not going to City,” Ronaldo said. “I give you my word I’m not going. Money is not the most important thing. If it was for money I could have double what I have. If it was for money I would leave.
“The most important thing is the behaviour of the people and they treat me tremendously here and I am very happy in Madrid.’
