Elbow have confirmed that they will play 2011’s Glastonbury Festival.
Frontman Guy Garvey revealed that the band will play before U2 while talking on his BBC 6 Music show yesterday.
Elbow, whose new album Building a Rocket Boys! is released today (March 7), will appear on the Pyramid Stage.
Glastonbury organisation Emily Eavis later tweeted: “We’re delighted that the mighty Elbow have confirmed.”
Taking place on June 22-26 at Worthy Farm in Somerset, Glastonbury headliners will include U2, Coldplay and Beyonce who will bring the event to a close on the Sunday.

Other confirmed acts include Anna Calvi, BB King, Big Boi, The Chemical Brothers, Crystal Castles, Friendly Fires, Fleet Foxes, Gruff Rhys, Janelle Monae, Mumford & Sons, Primal Scream and Warpaint.
Tickets for the festival have already sold out.
