Gunwharf quays is a purpose built shopping and restaurant centre on the waterfront right near the historic docks. It has a great range of factory outlets selling a wide range of designer and mainstream clothing brands (fatface, gap, TM Lewin, Barbour, Timberland etc), bookshops, household goods and food at significant discounts over conventional high street outlets. I can thoroughly recommend a day out there. The shops, the restaurants and coffee bars provide a great one-hit destination for Christmas shopping. You can also chill in a restaurant and watch the cross channel ferries and other marine craft sail by.
