The line-up for this year’s ‘I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here!’ has been revealed. And as usual, the TV-series contains a rather odd collection of B-Z stars and torpid ‘has-beens’.

This year viewers will get to see the following 12 contestants battle it out in the jungle along with cockroaches, venomous snakes and other unpleasant creepy-crawlies:

Happy Monday’s foulmouthed frontman Shaun Ryder

68 year-old Swedish Bond babe Britt Ekland

Ex-Lib Dem MP, Lembit Opik

2009’s third place X Factor contestant Stacey Solomon

Fast-running ex-British athlete Linford Christie

Former Playboy model Kayla Collins

Actor Nigel Havers – best known as ‘male escort’ Lewis Archer in Coronation Street

Presenter and Big Brother 3 contestant Alison Hammond

You Are What You Eat Gillian McKeith – yeah, remember that when you tuck into the grub worms Gillian

Trigger Happy funnyman and  journalist Dom Joly

Paul ‘Gazza’ Gascoigne’s ex-wife Sheryl Gascoigne, and mum to reality-star Bianca Gascoigne

Rapper Aggro Santos, who got to No.5 on the UK charts with single Candy

For some of the contestants the word ‘celebrity’ might barely apply just yet, however the show should soon give their careers a well-needed boost.

And after last year’s show, which turned into yet another Katie Price reality-circus, ITV bosses have had a new strategy when creating this year’s line-up.

An ITV source told the Sun: “We got our fingers burnt last year getting Katie in. She hogged the limelight and viewers got fed up with it. Now we’re going back to basics with great celebs and all the jungle nastiness viewers love.”

They are also promising a more stomach turning bushtucker menu than ever before.

What do you think? Are you excited about this year’s show, and are the chosen celebs worthy ‘I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here!’ contestants?
