Jamie T (Virgin)

Taste-wise, Jamie T’s ramshackle pop/rap hybrid has always been up there with Marmite. But love or hate him, Mr Treays’ debut Panic Prevention showcased a sound that was uniquely his own. Follow up LP Kings And Queens sticks to the T template on tracks such as frantic but catchy Sticks ’N’ Stones, but also pushes the envelope with the ’60s flecked Chaka Demus and sampledelic Castro Dies. It’s a bit hit and miss, but original all the same.
