Lily Allen announced on Twitter that she was “outraged” not to be invited to the royal wedding. However she has now backtracked, saying that the comment was “sarcastic” and branding the fuss-makers “humourless fools”.

Apparently getting her knickers in a twist about her lack of a royal wedding invitation – compounded by the fact that Joss Stone has received one – Lily Allen tweeted:

“You can quote me as ‘outraged’, why does bloody Joss Stone get an invite and not moi?”

Warming to her royal wedding theme, Lily Allen continued:

“I sang at the Diana concert too!”

London royal wedding frenzy

However, it appears Lily was just having a wee laugh with her Twitter followers.

“It was pretty obvious that I was being sarcastic about not being invited to the royal wedding, right?” Allen tweeted today.

And when the message still didn’t seem to be getting through: “Oh my god, if I get one more tweet about not being invited to the royal wedding. IT WAS A JOKE you humourless fools, now run along.”

Guy Ritchie, the Beckhams, Elton John and Joss Stone have all been invited to Prince William and Kate Middleton’s royal wedding, but it looks as though Lily will have to make do with waving a Union Jack at the back of someone’s head like the rest of us.
