A new study conducted by La Trobe university has looked at the dating habits of teens, and has discovered that sending saucy messages and nude pics is much more widespread than previously thought.
In fact, it’s considered the norm now that experts are advising parents to think of it as a ‘modern’ form of dating.
The study suggests that 70% of sexually active year 10 to 12 students have sent sexy texts, 84% have received them, and over 50% have sent someone a nude or semi-nude picture or video of themselves.
However, despite these digital flirtations, the study showed that more teenagers are choosing to wait before they have sex for the first time. Are they worries that the reality won’t be able to live up to the fantasy?
