Carl’s world famous brother Olympic athlete Oscar faces murder charges following the shooting of girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.
Carl Pistorius, 28, was reportedly summoned back into court last week in South Africa charged with causing an accident that resulted in the death of the motorcyclist.
“Carl deeply regrets the accident,” said lawyer Kenny Oldwage.
“Blood tests conducted by the police at the time proved that he had not been under the influence of alcohol, confirming that it was a tragic road accident after the deceased collided with Carl’s car.”
The charges were dropped several years ago but have been reinstated as the more high-profile Pistorius brother’s case gains worldwide recognition.
The victim’s family are reported to have insisted that evidence pointed to negligence and blame Carl for the incident.
Carl has been a regular familiar face and supporter in the courtroom as his brother Oscar faces trial.
