The Hackney-born house DJ Coleman (above right) won the series final last night, saying “It’s a dream come true.”

Coleman cooked up a treat on the final showdown for judges Josh Torode and Gregg Wallace, putting on a spread of lobster tail to start, roast pork belly, pork tenderloin and a scotch egg for the main course and a vanilla chocolate panna cotta topped with a bitter chocolate tuile for dessert.

“Natalie is destined for great things,” said Mastechef judge Torode.

The eight week BBC TV show competition had seen 50 competitors fight it out in the kitchen for this year’s Masterchef champion award, but Coleman came out on top.
