While it might sound like your average skiing holiday with a bit of dress ups thrown in, what makes Snowbombing different is that it hurls the notion of cheesy après-ski out the window.
Instead it calls on some top-shelf names to take to the bars and clubs of Mayrhofen at night. This means there’s no nasty ’80s Eurotrash music that’ll make your ears bleed after a day on the slopes, just quality tunes all week long courtesy of a stack of crème de la crème DJs and bands.
The line-up for this year’s event includes Fat Boy Slim, Editors, Doves, The Enemy, 2manyDj’s, Friendly Fires and De La Soul.
What started out as a trip with just 250 Mancunians who were keen for a holiday filled with cool beats and boarding has grown into Europe’s premier music festival in the snow, celebrating its 10th birthday last year.
And top quality music has remained a priority. There’s no shortage of venues either, from the bars and clubs to the Arctic Disco in an igloo on the slopes to the massive mash-up under the starry sky in the forest.
Every night you’ve got a pick of too-good-to-miss parties that creep into the wee hours of the morning, while by day the sunny slopes beckon. Yep, you’re going to need some stamina to get through this one. In fact, you probably have to be a superhero to keep up.
