Pietersen worked his way to 50 with the only help coming from Saffa bowler Morne Morkel (18), with his team managing a paltry 117.
The winner of the Sixers and Titans clash goes into Sunday’s final against the Lions.
Aussie Big Bash champs the Sixers are unbeaten in the competition, but will face the Titans – who have limped into the semis after a heavy loss to the Kolkata Knight Riders – at their home ground, Centurion.
