A Freedom of Information request from the Huffington Post UK discovered found that sites deemed pornographic are regularly accessed by the network use by about 5000 people, although the frequency has fluctuated.

Porn website patronage in Parliamentary peaked in November last year at 114,844 and dropped to 55,552 in April this year.

Just 18,436 attempts open a site deemed a bit rudey nudey were made in May.

Officials have pointed out that figures look high due to certain sites refreshing themselves, pop-ups, videos and images.

“We are not going to restrict Parliamentarians’ ability to carry out research,” a spokeswoman said.

Officials haven’t detailed what constitutes pornographic material.

These new details follow a recent story revealing there were 52,375 hits on the adultery site Out of Town Affairs made from Parliament computers in seven months.
