Premiere footballer allegedly raped teenager

Premiere league star Ivan Klasnic has been arrested on suspicion of raping a teenager.

A 17-year-old girl was allegedly raped by the 30-year-old Bolton Wanderers footballer, who also plays for Croatia.

Police were called to an apartment where the incident allegedly took place at 0500 BST when the allegation was made.

Klasnic was arrested later, said police sources.

The premiere league striker, who has won 38 caps for Croatia and scored 12 international goals, signed a two-year deal with Bolton Wanderers in August.

Klasnic was on loan from French club Nantes last season but did not have his contract renewed.
