Prince Harry was forced to admit that marriage is not on the horizon for him after a cheeky pensioner quizzed him about his plans.
Harry was reviewing the annual Chelsea Pensioners parade at London’s Royal Hospital when veteran William Titchmarsh asked him: “When are you getting married?” Blushing and looking a little shocked, the 26-year-old laughed and said: “Not for a long time,” before asking: “Who put you up to ask me that?”
85 year old Titchmarsh, a member of the Gunners Regiment, later joked: “They’ll shoot me in the morning.”
Prince Harry now a qualified helicopter pilot who is training with the Army Air Corps, became the first serving officer to review the parade for 37 years.
Dressed in their vibrant red tunics, All 300 residents marched past the Prince, some using walking sticks while others rode past in motorised wheelchairs. Prince Harry, spoke of the “huge privilege” at being there.
There has been much speculation about Harry’s personal life since he performed the duty of best man for his brother Prince William in his marriage to Kate Middleton at Westminster Abbey.
Harry’s on again-off again girlfriend Chelsy Davy was at the Royal Wedding however some pundits believed they had detected some chemistry between Harry and bridesmaid Pippa Middleton, who by all accounts looked ravishing in her bum-enhancing dress.
But alas for Harry, Pippa is happily dating City financier, Alex Loudon.
