You must check out Saint Emilion is a small beautiful medieval village about one hour out of Bordeaux. It’s a busy little region for wine making and tasting, with over 100 wineries in the area alone. You can book a tour at the Office de Tourism or you can catch a train from Bordeaux central.

There are four trains a day from Bordoaux. The train you want is on the Bordauex-Sarlat line by TER. Visit www.ter-sncf.com to Saint Emilion. There are also bus tours from Bordauex as well.

The town it self has some of the most superb architecture and it totally stunning and romantic. There are many wine shops and small wineries in the town it self, if have transport, visiting the local Chateaus is a must. They are generally open every day you can just turn up or if you are more organised, book an arranged time at the Saint Emilion Tourism centres (in the centre of the town).
