Some people get guilty pleasures from eating the chocolate out of their advent calendars early, but Selfridges is putting a new spin on the indulgence with a miniature-shoe collection. It will be housed in a cabinet that mimics the design of an advent calendar, with each door or flap opening via a key or cryptic riddle. Each section holds 10cm replicas of shoes from the likes of Maison Martin Margiela, Rupert Sanderson and Dries Van Noten. But don’t worry if the £18,000 price tag (splutter) is beyond your means, for there are some little, more affordable joys to purchase. You can buy a pack of Louboutin Barbie shoes for £60, and also a Fendi mini baguette bag for £60. Perhaps Dune shoes are more your style – you can get a miniature pair for £85. Alternatively, splash out on mini Dr Martens, or mini Havaianas for less than £100. Too cute.
