In an incident that is still breaking, shots have fired outside the Palace of Westminster, the home of UK government.
There have also been unconfirmed reports a policeman was stabbed during the incident. The gunshots are thought to have come from armed police.
Commons Leader David Lidington told MPs the “alleged assailant was shot by armed police” following a “serious” incident.
Westminster is currently on lockdown.
