STA Travel and Destination NSW have decided to offer the ultimate 60 Day adventure in Australia, including return flights, a paid internship, all accommodation, 50-day camper van hire, and more than £2000 in adventure tours.
Tim Fryer, STA Travel UK product and marketing director, said: “The winner will kickstart their Working Holiday in NSW in epic style – with a paid internship. Working as ‘product tester’ at our brand new Backpacker by STA Travel store in Sydney, they’ll be paid to road-test loads of our best NSW product… everything from surf lessons, to tall ship sailing, to climbing bridges!
“All that’s paid for, plus, we’re throwing in an iPhone, a GoPro camera, and the ultimate company car for 50 days: a Mighty Campervan, and a private room, in one of Sydney’s best hostels for the duration.
“The winner will be sharing all their great experiences on social media through our official channels in a bid to inspire others to create their own bespoke 60 day Adventure, with the help of our knowledgeable in-store travel experts.”
Destination NSW Chief Executive Officer Sandra Chipchase said that NSW is the perfect place for young travellers.
“Our State has so much to offer young travellers, with a wide range of attractions and activities as well as world class work and study options. The winner of this competition will be treated to the very best of NSW and it promises to be an amazing experience. We are pleased to be teaming up with STA Travel to deliver this promotion,” she said.
To apply, upload a video application on the “60 Day Adventure” hub before 17th August, doing a 30-60 second piece-to-camera explaining why you should be the chosen candidate.
From these entrants, three finalists will be chosen and invited to the ‘Photo Shoot Out’ phase. They will be asked to send their best travel photo to STA Travel, who will upload to a dedicated Facebook album. Their photo will be the focus of a public vote – with the winner being the one who attracts the most votes.
Whilst the winner is in NSW, STA Travel and Destination NSW will help them make the most of the experiences open to them and ensure that they’re able to share these experiences on their travels and show the world how a working holiday should be done, via means including:
Weekly video diaries, photos and blog posts to be used across STA Travel’s social media and blogs, as well as the 60 Day Adventure hub on the STA Travel website – an area of the site dedicated entirely to the winner and their trip.
As part of the internship, the winner will also help manage the Backpacker by STA Travel social media channels. Backpacker by STA Travel was set up for young travellers’ people to help them make the most of their trip so there’s no one better placed to serve that community.
