Strictly Come Dancing 2011’s celebrity line-up has been confirmed, revealing that stars such Lulu, Jason Donovan and Holly Valance will all be taking to the floor.

The ninth series of the popular BBC show features a particularly glamourous line-up of women – albeit Z-listers – including the Scottish songstress, Lulu, Valance, the Australian actress and singer, plus Sven Goran Eriksson's ex Nancy Dell’Olio and The One Show host Alex Jones.

Other women who will be strutting their stuff include the former MP Edwina Currie, actress Anita Dobson and Waterloo Road star Chelsee Healey.

The boys aren’t bad on the eye, either, with stage and music star Donovan, joined by McFly’s Harry Judd.

Former footballer Robbie Savage, who has vowed to respect the ‘referees’, is among a line-up of sportsmen who are to take the stage, too. He will be joined by boxer Audley Harrison and tennis star-turned TV presenter Dan Lobb.

Astrologer Russell Grant, and comedian Rory Bremner are also getting ready to dig out their dancing shoes.

Savage’s inclusion may raise eyebrows among fans who remember him as one of the game’s more aggressive stars. The 36-year-old was once dubbed the dirtiest player in the Premiership.

But he said: “If the judges dis me, who am I to tell them what they’re doing? I’d never argue off the field, it’s not who I am.”

The existing judging panel made up of Len Goodman, former Strictly winner Alesha Dixon, Craig Revel Horwood and Bruno Tonioli, are all returning for the ninth series.

And Bruce Forsyth and Tess Daly are back in the main presenting roles, with Claudia Winkleman joining Tess for the Sunday night results show.

The BBC1 show begins on Saturday.
