Strictly Come Dancing winner Kara Tointon tore a ligament in her arm in Saturday night’s finale, and was so in so much pain that she had to be taken to hospital once the show was over.

The accident happened while the EastEnders actress performed a back flip to Queen’s energetic ‘Don’t Stop me Now’, with her dance partner Artem Chigvintsev.

Tointon told The Sun: “I had tried to do a back flip and I thought, ‘Oh my God, oh my God, I can’t go on’. It was so painful. I was gutted. As it was the last night I really wanted to enjoy it, but after that it all went a bit wrong. I am just glad I made it all the way to the end.”

“My dad took me to hospital and they were really great,” she said. “They X-rayed it. I have torn a ligament. It is really painful.”
