And it was Lance Franklin (five goals) who was the star as the Swans steamrolled their way to a 71-point victory.

But it was a slow start for John Longmire’s star-studded side and they didn’t score their opening goal until the 16th minute.

They didn’t look back from that point though, winning 19.22 (136) to 9.11 (65).

The Swans, who have been expected to reach the Grand Final for much of 2014, will play the winner of Saturday’s second preliminary final between Hawthorn and Port Adelaide.
