Take That’s new album Progress is living up to it’s name and looks set to storm the number one spot in time for Xmas.

The newly reformed five-piece performed a thrilling rendition of their new single The Flood on the X Factor results show on Sunday night giving their album sales a huge  boost.

The performance was a far cry from Robbie Williams’ wobbly appearance on the show as a solo performer the year before.

By this morning bookies slashed The odds of Take That album Progress being Christmas number one.

Ladbrokes made Progress 2/5 favourite for the Christmas number one album while William Hill made it their 4/9 favourite.

Retailers meanwhile are reporting that Progress has become the biggest pre-order release of the year.
