The Chemical Brothers have been announced as the headliner of this year’s Creamfields festival.

The famous dance act will perform at Daresbury in Cheshire on Saturday 27 August, a bank holiday weekend.

Other big names confirmed for the festival include Armin van Buuren, David Guetta, Calvin Harris, Swedish House Mafia, Tiesto, Magnetic Man and Josh Wink.

BBC radio 1 is the exclusive radio partner for the festival this year and BBC Radio 1Xtra will have a special arena featuring the likes of Digital Soundboy System and Goldie.

It’s a big year for The Chemical Brothers. They are also headlining this summer’s RockNess and Wireless festivals and are appearing at Glastonbury.

They last appeared at Creamfields in 2007 and released their seventh studio album Further last year.

The talented duo have also recently teamed up with film director Joe Wright to score Wright’s boldly original adventure thriller Hanna, which stars Saoirse Ronan, Eric Bana, and Academy Award winner Cate Blanchett.
