Fave solo wild camping spot?

Sandwood Bay in far north Scotland – a beach that looks like it’s been lifted from the Caribbean and dropped at the tip of the UK, and the only way in is on foot. Having that place to myself was really very special. 

Most memorable experience?

The first one I did on my own in Wales. I thought it would be really scary but having the Snowdonian mountains for company turned out to be all I needed.

Top tips for first timers?

Arrive late and leave early, take all rubbish with you and wait for good weather – you should enjoy not endure the experience!Extreme Sleeps is out now through Summersdale.
