Stadiums and casinos top the country’s most popular tourist attractions as places that when Facebookers are there, they want to let people know it.

The MCG, the home of AFL and the location for the upcoming Boxing Day Test match, topped a list as Oz’s most checked-in location in 2012.

Sydney’s ANZ Stadium and Rod Laver Arena, the home of the Australian Open, were also in the top 10 list at third and fourth place, with Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium ranking number nine.

Only three tourist attractions made the top 10 – Sydney’s Darling Harbour, Bondi Beach and the Opera House.

The other venues it’s trendy to check-in at are Sydney’s Star City Casino, and Melbourne’s Chadstone Shopping Centre and Crown Casino.
