Melbourne is all set for Australia’s second Ritz Carlton, to be built in the central business district. As well as hotel accommodation there are plans to include shops and residential apartments in what will be the highest hotel in Australia.

The project will commence construction in 2016.

“We are honoured to partner once again with Far East Consortium on a second, spectacular project in Australia. We look forward to welcoming Ritz-Carlton guests from around the world to a sensational high-rise hotel in Melbourne, a rich and intriguing city,” said Herve Humler president of the hotel.

FEC Chairman, David Chiu said, “We believe Australia has plenty of opportunities in the tourism industry. The country has many unique offerings which are driving the growth in tourist arrivals. We are delighted to bring this international luxury brand to Perth and now Melbourne.”

Last year the hotel group publicised that it is developing a Ritz Carlton in Perth.

It is believed that the recent news demonstrates the company’s dedication to providing exceptional hotel experiences in key Australian cities.
